2009 Toyota Highlander Wheelhouse Parts Q&A
Q: How to remove the front Wheelhouse on 2009 Toyota Highlander?
A: The front fender liner removal starts by taking away the engine under cover assembly (for 2GR-FE) then continuing with the No. 1 engine under cover. For the removal of the front fender moulding sub-assembly the procedures are the same for both left-hand and right-hand side operations. The LH front wheel opening extension pad can be removed through screw removal of its two attachment points. The RH side requires another repetition of this process. The procedure to uninstall the front fender liner LH starts by removing the screw followed by using a screwdriver to rotate the pin 90 degrees to free the pin hold clip then using a 4 mm hexagon wrench to eliminate the 2 screws. The process to detach the front fender liner LH requires you to remove its 2 grommets and to install new ones because grommets will break upon removal while the detachment sequence concludes with 5 clips and 8 screws. To detach the front fender liner RH you should first remove the screw then rotate the pin for 90 degrees and pull off the pin hold clip after that use a 4 mm hexagon wrench to remove both screws and put the new grommets before you take apart the 5 clips and 7 screws.
