2009 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove the front crankshaft seal on 2009 Toyota Camry?
A: You should start by taking out the front wheel RH and then proceed with removing the front fender apron seal RH, engine under cover LH, and engine under cover RH from the 2AZ-FE engine. Next, remove the V-ribbed belt. Special Service Tools 09960-10010 and 09962-01000 should be used to immobilize the crankshaft pulley at TMMK locations before loosening the pulley bolt using 09950-40011 and 09951-04010. The pulley operation requires Special Service Tool: 09213-54015 and 91651-60855 for TMC manufacturers to secure the pulley while loosening the bolt before removal using Special Service Tool: 09950-50013 and 09951-05010. The pulley and bolt can be removed together using Special Service Tool. The first step requires a knife to cut through the oil seal lip until the timing chain case oil seal can be removed with a taped screwdriver. Inspection of crankshaft damage should be conducted before sanding repaired areas with 400-grit sandpaper.
