• Q: How to remove the radiator on 2009 Scion xD?

  A: Turning off ignition power will prevent electric cooling fan operation when removing the radiator. The first step should be to drain engine coolant while removing the engine under cover on both left and right sides. The front bumper cover needs to be removed before proceeding to take out the upper radiator support absorber. Start by taking out the air cleaner assembly before disconnecting the No. 1 radiator hose through clip removal. The repair procedure requires technicians to separate hot oil lines from their connections to both the inlet No. 2 oil cooler hose and outlet No. 1 oil cooler hose. Use pliers to open the clip which leads to radiant hose disconnect. Detach the hood lock assembly following steps to extract the hood lock control cable assembly from its clamps together with the removal of the three bolt screws.
