How to install the thermostat on 2009 Scion xD?

A new gasket must first be mounted to the thermostat while the jiggle valve should face upward at a 10° position shift on either side. You should place the water inlet against the radiator hose and fasten both ends with their respective 2 nuts before securing them to a torque of 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf). Following installation you must fill the engine with coolant before looking for potential leaks in the coolant system.
