2009 Scion xD Fan Motor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to install the cooling fan motor on 2009 Scion xD?
A: The installation process of the 3 screw-secured 2ZR-FE cooling fan motor starts with adding the nut followed by torque application at 6.3 Nm (64 kgf-cm, 56 in-lbf). Fasten the fan with the nut while applying a torque of 6.3 Nm (64 kgf-cm, 56 in-lbf). Following steps should include shroud fan installation followed by the radiator assembly and upper radiator support sub-assembly together with the No. 1 cooler cover and hood lock assembly. The engine requires connection of the No. 2 radiator hose together with both outlet and inlet oil cooler hoses (Automatic Transaxle Model) and the No. 1 radiator hose. The installation order should include the air cleaner assembly alongside the radiator support upper absorber and front bumper cover. Once coolant reaches the required level conduct a leak test of the coolant system. The hood lock assembly requires adjustment after installing both engine under covers under the right and left side.
