The first step to access the Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly is front wheel removal. The first step requires removal of rocker panel moulding cover and the side mudguard. The process starts with rotating the pin hold clip 90 degrees using a screwdriver which enables the removal of 8 clips and 6 screws and finally allows the extraction of 3 grommets with the necessary replacement of the grommet since it breaks upon removal. The hood lock assembly removal procedure has three bolts to take out alongside a hood cable disconnection. You must separate the hood cable for the second time before taking out the hood lock control lever sub-assembly. Completion of cable removal from the engine area requires a screwdriver tip taped for protection to disconnect clamps before cable extraction.
