• Q: How to remove the throttle body assembly on 2009 Scion xB?

  A: The initial stage of removing the throttle body assembly from 2AZ-FE engine control system requires draining the coolant from the engine. First separate the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly through removal of its two mounting nuts. Detach the air cleaner cap sub-assembly along with the No. 1 air cleaner hose by following the sequence of disconnecting the mass air flow meter connector while separating the wire harness then disconnecting the No. 1 vacuum switching valve and removing the ventilation hose and separating the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose after loosening the No. 1 air cleaner hose clamp and unlocking the air cleaner assembly clamp until the air cleaner filter element can be removed. The maintenance procedure requires the removal of the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose together with the No. 1 water by-pass hose and the No. 2 water by-pass hose and the connector and throttle hose. Begin by removing the four bolts before removing the fuel pipe support together with the throttle body assembly and finally collecting the gasket from the intake manifold.
