• Q: How to install the throttle body assembly on 2008 Scion xB?

  A: Residents should install the 2AZ-FE engine control throttle body assembly by placing fresh gaskets onto the intake manifold. Throttle body assembly bolts should be tightened to 30 Nm which equals 306 kgf-cm and 22 ft-lbf. Connect the throttle hose followed by the connector and then proceed to join the No. 2 water by-pass hose with the No. 1 water by-pass hose and finally attach the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose. Begin the air cleaner cap sub-assembly installation with the No. 1 air cleaner hose by placing the filter element first followed by lock and tightening operations on the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and hose assembly using the designated clamp. You should install the vacuum switching valve assembly after connecting the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose and the No. 2 ventilation hose to the air cleaner hose. Connect the mass air flow meter connector while installing the wire harness. Engine coolant should be added while checking for any coolant leakage. Position the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly and fasten it with two nuts which require torque to 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf).
