• Q: How to remove the fuel injectors on 2008 Scion xB?

  A: Prior to removing fuel injectors from the 2AZ-FE engine users need to discharge pressure within the fuel system. Before beginning the required procedure start by taking out the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly together with the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and its attached hose. The fuel main tube installation needs the removal of parts from both fuel hose clamp and No. 2 fuel pipe clamp before you begin while keeping the tube straight without any bends or kinks. You must clean the fuel tube connector and insert Special Service Tool: 09268-21010 which has a chamfered alignment tool to fit the retainer into its connector part. The tool needs insertion into the fuel tube while pushing the connector toward it before mounting the retainer onto the tool's chamfered section. Move the tool and connector in unison to a "click" sound before you disconnect the fuel tube while placing plastic covering over the parts. The ventilation valve No. 2 pipe gets removed first followed by a fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly removal that starts with wire harness clamp unclipping then fuel injector connector detachment and both bolt removal to extract fuel delivery pipe and four fuel injectors carefully without dropping them. Remove the fuel delivery pipe spacers together with the four insulators from the cylinder head before pulling the four fuel injectors free from the delivery pipe.
