You need to remove the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly first before starting the next step. The process for air filter box assembly removal includes first loosening the No. 1 air filter box hose clamp then unlocking the air filter box assembly clamp and removing the air filter box cap sub-assembly. For the 2AZ-FE intake air filter box clearance proceed by first removing the air filter box filter element sub-assembly then disconnecting the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose followed by disconnecting the ventilation hose. Letting go of the No. 1 air filter box hose clamp enables removal of the hose and spring wire harness separation. The technician should begin by removing the 3 bolts from the air filter box sub-assembly followed by loosening the No. 2 intake air resonator hose clamp and finally removing both the resonator and union tube.
