- Q: How to remove the throttle body assembly on 2010 Scion xB?A: Draining engine coolant should be the first step before starting the throttle body assembly removal process from the 2AZ-FE engine control system. The first step includes removing the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly by unfastening its two nuts. You must start by detaching the air cleaner cap sub-assembly together with the No. 1 air cleaner hose through steps which include disconnecting the mass air flow meter connector, separating the wire harness, disconnecting the No. 1 vacuum switching valve, and removing the ventilation hose and separating the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose, loosening the No. 1 air cleaner hose clamp, unlocking the air cleaner assembly clamp and finally removing the air cleaner filter element. Deliver the throttle body assembly by disconnecting the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose followed by the No. 1 water by-pass hose and the No. 2 water by-pass hose and connector and throttle hose. Experts must remove the 4 bolts and pull out the fuel pipe support before they can extract the throttle body assembly from which they substitute the intake manifold gasket.
