• Q: How to install the intake manifold on 2010 Scion xB?

  A: Starting the intake manifold installation requires attachment of the throttle hose first then installation of the union to connector tube hose followed by securing the vacuum hose clamp with a 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf) bolt. Proceed with installing the No. 2 ventilation hose before placing a new gasket on the intake manifold and using 5 bolts and 2 nuts to attach it with a torque of 30 Nm (306 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf). After reinstalling both components the union to connector tube hose and the No. 2 ventilation hose you can complete your work. The fuel delivery pipe assembly with its fuel tube assembly needs the installation of four new injector vibration insulators on the cylinder head followed by the No.1 delivery pipe spacer and securing of the fuel delivery pipe assembly with two bolts at 20 Nm torque (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf). Assembly of the fuel tube sub-assembly should be followed by wiring harness and connection of injector assembly connector and camshaft oil control valve assembly connector and heated oxygen sensor connector. The fuel tube sub-assembly needs installation with an EFI pipe clamp. Then follow this order to install the throttle body assembly together with the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and No. 1 air cleaner hose and No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly. The installation order includes the front wiper motor and link as well as cowl top ventilator louver straps LH and RH, hood to cowl top seal and front wiper arm and blade assembly LH and RH, and windshield wiper arm cover.
