  • Q: How to remove the Air Filter Box on 2010 Scion xB?
    A: The procedure to remove the 2AZ-FE intake air filter box requires the removal of the Mass Air Flow Meter first. Start by removing the No. 1 Vacuum Switching Valve Assembly from the list of tools needed for cleaning the air intake of the 2AZ-FE engine. Start by removing the air filter box assembly through three steps which include loosening the No. 1 air filter box hose clamp while unlocking the air filter box assembly clamp and removing the air filter box cap sub-assembly. To proceed with the air filter box removal of the 2AZ-FE intake first remove the air filter element sub-assembly and then disconnect the ventilation hose along with the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose. The installer should loosen the clamp securing the No. 1 air filter box hose before removing the hose and separating the wire harness. The service process requires removal of 3 bolts to detach the air filter box sub-assembly followed by loosening the No. 2 intake air resonator hose clamp before removing the No. 2 intake air resonator and union tube.
