The fuel system pressure needs to be discharged before attempting to remove the fuel pressure regulator used in 2AZ-FE engines. The fuel system pressure requires discharge then the technician must disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the fuel material. Then, remove the fuel pump. You must gently disassemble the fuel pressure regulator assembly using a screwdriver tipped with protective tape and retrieve the 2 O-rings present in the pressure regulator assembly.
