  A: The first step to extract the knock sensor from the 2AZ-FE engine control system involves removing fuel system pressure. Next, drain the coolant. Begin by taking out the windshield wiper arm cover while also removing the front wiper arm assemblies with their blades on both left and right sides. Start by removing the hood to cowl top seal and moving on to take away both left and right cowl top ventilator louvers. Remove the front wiper motor followed by the link then start by taking out the outer cowl top panel. Remove the engine cover for position No. 1 before proceeding with the removal of the air cleaner cap assembly along with its corresponding No. 1 air cleaner hose. Complete the task by taking off the throttle body assembly followed by the fuel tube sub-assembly and the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly which includes the fuel tube sub-assembly. The last step involves disconnecting the ventilation hose followed by the union to check valve hose and removing the intake manifold gasket by loosening 5 bolts and 2 nuts and disconnecting the wire harness clamp from the intake manifold. Separate the No. 1 intake manifold insulator before disconnecting the sensor connector to unfasten the nut and remove the knock sensor.
