- Q: How to remove the Neutral Safety Switch from the U241E automatic transaxle on 2009 Scion xB?A: Starting the replacement of the neutral safety switch on the U241E automatic transaxle requires the removal of both the battery and the NO. 2 battery carrier. Remove the NO. 2 battery carrier as the next step of your process. Disconnect the connector located at the park/neutral position switch assembly. Before removal the transmission control cable assembly requires separation from the control shaft lever by removing its nut and shaft lever. Insert a screwdriver to remove the lock plate which you will need to pry again for removing both the manual valve shaft nut and lock plate. Remove the 2 bolts before pulling the park/neutral position switch assembly out from the manual valve lever shaft.
