  • Q: How do you remove the Clock Spring Assembly / Spiral Cable on 2008 Toyota Yaris?
    A: The first step to remove the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring requires disconnecting the negative battery cable. To begin remove the steering pad by applying T30 "Torx" socket wrench to two bolt fasteners until they are loose enough to pull the pad forward. By using a thin blade screwdriver approach the locking button and then disconnect the two Air Bag connectors followed by unfastening the horn connector. The following step requires removal of the steering wheel assembly. The installation requires the removal of 3 screws that will release the 2 claws for the lower cover followed by the same steps for the upper cover. The last step for clock spring removal involves detaching both the horn connector and the Air Bag connector through the slider operation followed by disengaging three claws for removing the clock spring.
