2009 Toyota Yaris Clock Spring Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the Clock Spring Assembly / Spiral Cable on 2009 Toyota Yaris?
A: The first step to remove the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring demands disconnecting the negative battery cable from its terminal. Before you start, use the Torx socket wrench T30 to fully loosen the two steering pad bolts then pull it forward toward your position. A thin-bladed screwdriver can release the locking button which enables you to disconnect the 2 Air Bag connectors and remove the horn connector. Continue with the removal of the steering wheel assembly afterward. To proceed with the steering column cover uninstallation you must first remove its screws followed by claw disengagement of the lower cover before repeating the process on the upper cover. The last step in clock spring removal requires users to separate the horn connector by sliding the slider while disconnecting the Air Bag connector through 3 claws until the clock spring can be taken out.
