2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser Seat Belt Parts Q&A
Q: How to Remove a Seat Belt Assembly Safely on 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser?
A: The first step to remove the front seat outer belt assembly requires disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable then waiting 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag deployment. Start the removal sequence by taking away the access panel rear Weather Strip then further strip off the lap belt outer anchor cover, access door inside handle sub-assembly, cup holder and access door trim board sub-assembly and center pillar upper garnish. Start by disassembly of the front seat outer belt assembly which requires both the through anchor removal and the nut austerity. To release the RH pretensioner connector locking button use a screwdriver then disconnect it from the pretensioner connector before removing all 2 bolts, 2 hooks and 1 retractor piece. To detach the assets from the LH side start by disconnecting the tension reducer connector followed by removing the 2 bolts and the 2 hooks and the retractor before releasing the locking button of the pretensioner connector. Remove the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster assembly through disconnection of its 2 bolts and hook and shoulder belt anchor adjuster.
