How to Properly Remove a Seat Belt Assembly on 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser?

The first step for front seat outer belt assembly removal begins with disconnecting the negative battery cable then waiting at least 90 seconds to stop the Air Bag from activating. The sequence begins with removing the access panel rear Weather Strip followed by the lap belt outer anchor cover and access door inside handle sub-assembly and cup holder and access door trim board sub-assembly as well as the center pillar upper garnish. Start by taking off the nut and through anchor from the RH side before unlocking the pretensioner connector with a screwdriver to disconnect it. You should then remove two bolts as well as two hooks and the retractor. The LH side requires separating the tension reducer connector followed by removing the 2 bolts and 2 hooks and the retractor before unlocking the pretensioner connector locking button and disconnecting it. To complete the task remove the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster assembly by unfastening its 2 bolts alongside the hook and shoulder belt anchor adjuster.
