2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the TPMS Sensor and Transmitter on 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser?
A: The removal process for the Tire Pressure Warning Valve and Transmitter starts with tire removal of the front and rear wheels. You must drain air from the tire by taking out its valve core and cap until you are confident enough air has escaped. Subsequently remove the nut and washer holding the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter then let the sensor drop inside the tire. Save the removed items including valve core and nut and cap and washer as needed for reassembly. Use the shoe of the tire remover to detach the bead from the tire sensor but protect the sensor from bead interference. Begin the procedure by taking off the bead on the upper tire edge then pull out the sensor through the tire before completing the removal by extracting the bead from the lower edge. Clear away the grommet inside the tire pressure warning valve while inspecting for damage before changing both the grommet and washer and nut when needed.
