  • Q: How do you remove the Clock Spring Assembly / Spiral Cable on 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser?
    A: Start by reading all necessary precautions before attempting to take out the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring. Unplug the negative battery cable then let it rest for at least ninety seconds to stop the Air Bag from deploying. First advance the front wheels straight ahead and remove the steering wheel cover lower components starting from No.3 then No.2 before the pad. Proceed by taking out the steering wheel assembly and subsequently disconnecting the lower steering column cover and upper steering column cover. To remove the clock spring disconnect the connectors from its cable while being cautious of damaging the connecting Air Bag wire harness and then remove the 4 screws.
