2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the ignition coil assembly on 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser?
A: The installation of the 1GR-FE engine ignition coil assembly starts by securing each Bank 1 ignition coil with three bolts at a torque of 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7.4 ft-lbf) while connecting its corresponding ignition coil connectors. Double-check the Bank 2 installation by performing the torques according to specifications while maintaining proper connections. The ventilation hose needs to be attached to the intake air surge tank. The inspection process requires installation of the No. 1 surge tank stay as well as the oil baffle plate and the air cleaner assembly. The negative battery terminal requires a cable installation resulting in a torque of 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf). The final step includes checking ignition timing followed by inspecting engine idling speed before installing the V-bank cover.
