2008 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the rear Brake Line on 2008 Toyota Camry?
A: When installing the rear brake flexible hose use a new gasket to connect it with the union bolt then apply torque to 33 Nm (337 kgf-cm, 24 ft-lbf). Fit the hose with a new clip after placing its identification mark toward the outside part of the vehicle before extending the clip until it reaches its full length. Together with Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 users can connect brake line to rear brake flexible hose by using a wrench to apply torque at 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf), but the required torque can reach 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf) without using the tool. It is crucial to avoid both brake line deformations and damage and to stop foreign particles from entering the connection area. A torque wrench with a 250 mm (9.84 in.) fulcrum needs to be used when attaching the components with a torque value of 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf) using the wrench at a correct 90-degree angle. You must install the rear flexible hose to the shock absorber using a bolt which requires a torque value of 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf). After brake fluid addition to the reservoir, perform brake line and brake actuator assembly bleeding (if TMC Made with VSC is present). Next inspect brake fluid level followed by leak inspection. Finish the process by fastening the rear wheel at 103 Nm torque (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf).
