2008 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the front speed sensor on 2008 Toyota Camry?
A: A bolt should connect the front speed sensor but only reach 8.0 Nm of torque (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf), with efforts taken to stop foreign matter from adhering to the sensor tip. Secure two bolts which will engage into the two claws to install the front speed sensor; tighten Bolt A to 5.0 Nm and Bolt B to 19 Nm. Consequently, Bolt A needs a torque of 5.0 Nm and Bolt B needs a torque of 19 Nm. Keep the wire harness clear from twisting because Bolt B also tightens the brake flexible hose against the front speed sensor which needs proper alignment. Finally secure the stopper inside the body hole while connecting both the front speed sensor connector and clamp. Install the front fender liner first and then put on the front wheel opening extension pad LH before tightening the front wheel up to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf). Perform the speed sensor signal test using correct test mode operations that apply to BOSCH without VSC systems, BOSCH with VSC units or ADVICS systems.
