2009 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the front speed sensor on 2009 Toyota Camry?
A: The front speed sensor should be fastened using a bolt with 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf) torque and must not allow foreign particles to stick to the sensor tip. Two bolts compounds the installation of the front speed sensor: Bolt A receives 5.0 Nm of torque while Bolt B reaches 19 Nm torque. Both must grip two claws before installation. It is critical to install with caution while avoiding harness wire deformation and achieve proper tightening from Bolt B that connects the brake flexible hose to the front speed sensor with the hose covering the sensor. Place the stopper inside the body hole before connecting the front speed sensor connector and clamp. First, mount the front fender liner then the front wheel opening extension pad LH before installing the front wheel and torquing it to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf). To perform the speed sensor signal check follow different methods based on system type which includes BOSCH without VSC, BOSCH with VSC, and ADVICS.
