2007 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the rear Brake Line on 2007 Toyota Camry?
A: You can start servicing and repairing the rear brake flexible hose after draining brake fluid then removing the rear wheel first. The repair begins with removing the rear brake flexible hose after you detach its union bolt, hose, and gasket followed by separating the hose with the bolt. The brake line detachment requires Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to separate it while using a wrench to hold the rear brake flexible hose to avoid bending or damaging the brake line together with stopping foreign matter from entering the brake tube. After that, remove the clip. The process of installation requires fitting the rear brake flexible hose to the union bolt using a new gasket before torqueing it to a force of 33 Nm (337 kgf-cm, 24 ft. lbs.). After adding a new clip install the hose by orienting the identification mark outward and minimizing hose twisting. It is necessary to apply torque to the brake line and the rear brake flexible hose connection using Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 at 14 Nm (143 kgf-cm, 10 ft. lbs.) or 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.) torque without the tool while checking for any brake tube bending, damage and elimination of foreign matter from entering the brake tube. A torque wrench with a 300 mm (11.81 inch) fulcrum delivers reliable measurements during use. Install the shock absorber bolt to connect the flexible hose with the speed sensor while using 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.) of torque and orient the bracket towards the exterior of the vehicle. The installation process requires the reservoir to receive brake fluid before bleeding the brake line and inspecting the level of fluid along with a check for leakage followed by rear wheel reinstallation at 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.) torque.
