  A: The first step to extract the Knock Sensor from the 2ZR-FE engine control system is to empty fuel system pressure. Begin the process by disconnecting the negative battery cable followed by removing engine under covers at both sides. The first step in removing the No. 2 cylinder head cover requires draining engine coolant before completing the process. The following steps include taking off the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose then separating the engine wire harness followed by removing the harness bracket. First remove the connection of the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose along with its vacuum hose. Afterwards disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly after removing its fuel pipe clamp.
