  Q: How to remove the knock sensor on Scion xD?

  A: The first step to remove the knock sensor from the 2ZR-FE engine control system requires fuel system pressure discharge. Begin the procedure by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal and then remove both sides of engine under covers. Users must begin their operation by draining engine coolant and then removing the No. 2 cylinder head cover. The first step comprises removing the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with its hose while also separating the engine wire harness and disconnecting the harness bracket. A technician first disconnects the vacuum hose and No.1 fuel vapor feed hose then unclamps the fuel pipe followed by completion of the fuel tube sub-assembly removal. Unscrew and eliminate the combination of the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly and the No.1 delivery pipe spacer.
