2008 Scion xB Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove the TPMS Sensor and Transmitter on 2008 Scion xB?
A: First step to access the Tire Pressure Warning Valve and Transmitter is to remove both front and back wheels. The first step involves letting air escape from the tire through valve core removal while cleaning the valve core and cap. Then remove the washer and nut at the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter until it drops into the tire cavity. Set aside the discarded valve core together with the removed cap for future use. Drop the valve and transmitter into the tire before you start loosening the tire bead with the shoe tool while maintaining safe distance between the valve and transmitter and tire bead. Extract the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter from the tire and communicate it for bead removal on both the upper and lower sides in a typical manner. Before replacement it is recommended to take out the grommet and washer unit along with the nut even when the grommet shows no signs of damage.
