2008 Scion xB Mirror Switch Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the outer mirror switch on 2008 Scion xB?
A: The first step in removing the outer mirror switch involves disconnecting the negative battery cable then waiting 90 seconds to avoid activating Air Bags. First separate the right-hand front door opening trim Weather Strip then follow it with the left-hand one. First detach both front pillar garnish components from their positions on the right and left sides of the vehicle before extracting the instrument cluster finish center panel sub-assembly and the instrument cluster finish panel assembly. Remove the combination meter assembly together with the upper instrument panel sub-assembly following all other necessary components' removal. The procedure requires first removing the No. 1 switch hole base then disengaging two claws to remove the outer mirror switch assembly.
