Review all the safety precautions involving restraint systems before starting the service on the center Air Bag sensor assembly. Take the negative battery terminal cable out and wait for 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag release during service. Begin the service of center Air Bag sensor assembly by removing first the shift lever knob sub-assemblies then the No. 1 and No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnishes. The service process for automatic transaxles starts by taking out the floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly whereas manual transaxles require upper console panel sub-assembly and rear panel sub-assembly removal.
