- Q: How to service the front Air Bag sensor on 2007 Toyota Camry?A: The service of the front Air Bag sensor requires reading safety information about restraint systems. Remove the negative cable from the battery and wait for 90 seconds before and after disconnecting to stop any Air Bag from activating. Begin with the engine under cover removal from each side before you uninstall the front Air Bag sensor by unbolting it and disconnecting its connector. To install the component disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 90 more seconds before starting. Reattach the connector before installing the bolt on the front Air Bag sensor while tightening it to 17.5 N.m (179 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf). Replacement of the sensor is necessary if it sustains damage or has suffered any drops during installation. During installation the SRS wires should never compress the surrounding components nor should they disrupt other system components. Also double-check that all installation sections are secure. The final step involves reattaching the engine under covers from both sides then reconnecting the negative battery terminal while checking the SRS warning light operation.
