2007 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the TPMS Sensor and Transmitter on 2007 Toyota Camry?
A: The first task for servicing or repairing the Tire Pressure Warning Valve and Transmitter requires wheel removal from the front and rear positions along with the Grand Spare Tire if present. You start by deflating the tire through core removal from the valve then detach the pressure valve nut together with its washer before allowing the warning transmitter to sink down into the tire cavity. The shoe of the tire remover should be used to gently release the bead while you check for grommet damage before removing the upper bead then extracting the valve and transmitter from the tire. The tire installation process involves putting the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter into the valve installation hole through the inside of the rim when no visible damage or foreign matter exists. Install the valve and transmitter within the tire installation hole from inside the rim and use a torque wrench to set the washer and nut to 4.0 Nm (41 kgf-cm, 35 inch lbs.). Do not perform additional tightening afterward and inspect for debris or moisture that could harm the installation process. Attach the wheel disc to the mounting machine and position the lower tire bead correctly and the valve and transmitter should remain unblocked before installation. When ready to inflate the tire install the upper bead without allowing any clamp formation and re-tighten the valve nut tightly while testing for air leakage with foamy water. Set the wheel disc on the mounting machine to install both the front and rear wheels using 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.) torque then proceed to re-install the Grand Spare Tire if present before checking the tire condition and registering the transmitter ID and inspecting the tire pressure warning system.
