    A: Before servicing the knock sensor users must disconnect the negative battery cable for at least 90 seconds to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners from activating. Start by removing both LH and RH engine under covers followed by the starter assembly. The first step to servicing the sensor requires disconnecting its connector before extracting the nut then sensor. Install the knock sensor with its nut by applying 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf) torque and connect the sensor connector. The process ends with reinstalling the starter assembly followed by both engine under covers RH and LH and concluding with reconnecting the negative cable to the battery terminal.
