2006 Scion xB Camshaft Position Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2006 Scion xB?
A: Service of the Camshaft Position Sensor starts by removing the negative battery cable for at least 90 seconds to deactivate Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner systems. Begin by taking out the air cleaner assembly and you should disconnect the engine wire through the removal of two clamps. First disconnect the sensor connector after which you should remove the bolt and sensor. Install the new sensor with bolt while applying 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf) torque to both and connect the sensor connector. Attach the two clamps of the engine wire then put back the air cleaner assembly before connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
