  A: The first step to work on the Evaporative Emission Control Canister requires disconnecting the negative battery cable while waiting 90 seconds to avoid activating the Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners. Begin by disconnecting the connector before removing the 2 clamps and then separate the 2 tubes and hose by lifting the retainer using a screwdriver (retain the retainer in place) to disconnect the purge line hose and the air inlet line tube and vent line tube from the canister. The last step involves removing the 3 bolts which fasten the canister. Install the canister first then fasten it with the 3 bolts using 1No N.m torque of 194 kgf.cm (14 ft.lbf). First connect the air inlet line tube followed by the vent line tube and purge line hose to the canister prior to retaining the hose. Complete the procedure by reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal after attaching the 2 clamps and reconnecting the connector.
