2005 Toyota Solara Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the rear axle hub and Wheel Bearing assembly LH on 2005 Toyota Solara?
A: Your first step when replacing the LH rear axle hub and bearing assembly must include rear wheel removal. Begin by removing the bolt that attaches the rear disc brake caliper assembly LH and disconnecting its flexible hose from the shock absorber. Lastly uninstall the 2 bolts securing the caliper assembly while using a string or similar item to avoid letting the caliper hang by the flexible hose. The rear disc should be removed first along with disconnecting the skid control sensor through connector separation. Use a Toronto tool to eliminate the rear axle hub and bearing assembly LH through 4 bolt disassembly. Reinstallation of the hub and bearing assembly LH should be done by fitting it back into position before bolting it with 4 bolts tightened to 80 Nm (816 kgf-cm, 59 ft. lbs.). Follow the procedure for sensor wire connection by avoiding wire twisting during installation. The inspection of bearing backlash and axle hub deviation must be completed before the rear disc installation. The rear disc brake caliper assembly LH requires 2 bolts that need to be torqued to 62 Nm (630 kgf-cm, 46 ft. lbs.) while connecting the rear flexible hose with its bolt torqued to 19 Nm (192 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.). Check the ABS speed sensor signal for both ABS with EBD system and ABS with EBD & BA & TRAC & VSC system while completing the installation of the rear wheel by torquing it to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.).
