Q: How to install the front lower Control Arm on 2005 Toyota Sequoia?
A: Attach the front lower suspension arm to the chassis frame by securing it with two cams and bolts and cam plates while gently moving the power steering gear backwards at 130 Nm torque (1,325 kgf-cm, 96 ft. lbs.) that avoids power steering gear tube damage. When the suspension is stable you must torque the bolts only after aligning the matchmarks between the chassis frame and both cam plates in front and back. To connect the lower ball joint with the lower suspension arm you must secure it through a nut and new cotter pin while applying torque at 159 Nm (1,621 kgf-cm, 117 ft. lbs.). Additionally you must extend the nut torque by 60 degrees when the cotter pin holes are misaligned. Connect the shock absorber to the lower suspension arm using 135 Nm of torque (1,400 kgf-cm, 100 ft. lbs.) and install the stabilizer bar link to the lower suspension arm at 69 Nm (700 kgf-cm, 51 ft. lbs.) while holding the stud with a hexagon (6 mm) wrench because the ball joint spins with the nut. Install the power steering gear by torquing bolt A to 165 Nm (1,700 kgf-cm, 122 ft. lbs.) while torquing nut B to 130 Nm (1,350 kgf-cm, 96 ft. lbs.) and torquing bolt C together with nut C to 165 Nm (1,700 kgf-cm, 122 ft. lbs.). Afterward, connect the RH and LH tie rod ends to lower ball joints with new cotter pins and nuts tightened to 91 Nm (930 kgf-cm, 67 ft. lbs.) The front wheels must receive a torque of 110 Nm (1,150 kgf-cm, 83 ft. lbs.) during installation followed by alignment checks for the front wheels and calibration of steering angle and master cylinder pressure, yaw rate and deceleration sensors zero points.
