The camshaft replacement process begins by taking away the front wheel on the right-hand side and then the front fender apron seal right-hand side and the engine cover sub-assembly No.1 and spark plug and ventilation hoses and engine wire. Begin by disconnecting the engine wire harness clamp and removing bolts and nuts which leads to removal of cover and gasket and cylinder head cover sub-assembly from the assembly line. Set No. 1 cylinder to TDC/compression by turning the crankshaft pulley while its groove points to timing mark 0 of the timing chain cover and aligns camshaft timing gear and sprocket marks with bearing caps before painting the timing chain. The first chain tensioner assembly requires removal of its two nuts and tensioner and gasket while the crankshaft should revolve at no point without the tensioner. The removal process for No. 2 camshaft requires a wrench to secure the camshaft while you loosen the bolt before proceeding to remove bearing cap bolts in their specified order which allows camshaft raising with the sprocket bolt and ends with separating the camshaft timing sprocket from the timing chain. Begin by setting the timing chain to match the painted link mark on the camshaft timing gear, then fasten the bearing caps along with bolts which should be torqued to specified values. During No. 2 camshaft installation users must align the painted link mark to the camshaft timing sprocket timing mark before tightening the sprocket bolt first and installing the bearing caps and bolts and finally tightening the sprocket bolt to 54 Nm (551 kgf-cm, 40 ft. lbs.) while avoiding hitting the valve lifter. Verify that the paint marks of the timing chain along with the camshaft timing gear and camshaft timing sprocket align properly with the pulley groove. Position the chain tensioner assembly No.1 into place by raising the ratchet pawl before pushing in the plunger and applying the hook to the pin, then install a new gasket followed by the tensioner with 2 nuts that need tightening to 9.0 Nm (92 kgf-cm, 80 inch lbs.). The crankshaft operation should begin counterclockwise to inspect knock pin on plunger and shift to clockwise motion to verify plunger's action on slipper. To finish the procedure install the cylinder head cover sub-assembly once you remove the old packing, apply seal packing (Part No. 08826-00080 or equivalent) as specified and install it using 8 bolts and 2 nuts with a torque of 11 Nm (110 kgf-cm, 8 ft. lbs.). Then reconnect the engine wire, install the spark plug to a torque of 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.) and reinstall the front wheel RH to complete the job and check for engine oil leaks.
