How to remove the Hood Cable on Toyota Venza?

The first step to remove the Hood Cable requires removing the front wheel LH followed by taking out the front fender outside moulding LH. The removal starts with turning the pin 90 degrees to free the pin hold clip followed by unfastening 8 screws, 1 bolt and 4 clips and 3 grommets. Replace the grommets because they easily break when removed. The sequence is to detach the cool air intake duct seal, radiator grille protector and radiator grille. Move on to separate the high pitched horn system from its mount. To detach the hood lock assembly from the vehicle without the engine hood courtesy switch, first remove the hood lock nut cap using a screwdriver followed by taping the tip for safety purposes, then discard the hood lock control cable and remove 3 bolts from their locations. The process of separating the hood lock assembly includes removing its nut cap while disconnecting the connector before removing 3 bolts to disconnect the control cable then taking out the assembly when it includes the engine hood courtesy switch. Next remove the front door scuff plate on the left-hand side followed by the cowl side trim sub-assembly on the left-hand side and lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel. Disengage the clamps of the hood lock control cable assembly with a screwdriver after taping the tip for protection and draw out the assembly from the engine compartment for completion of the removal process.
