2011 Toyota Venza Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove the Hood Cable on 2011 Toyota Venza?
A: The first step to remove the Hood Cable involves taking out the front wheel LH followed by removing the front fender outside moulding LH. Disassemble the front fender liner LH by rotating the pin 90 degrees before detaching its pin hold clip and extracting 4 clips 1 bolt and 8 screws while also removing 3 grommets. New grommets should be installed due to their inevitable breakage during removal. Next, the technician should remove the cool air intake duct seal before taking out the radiator grille protector and the radiator grille. Secondly detach the high-pitched horn assembly. A screwdriver is required to remove the hood lock nut cap but the driver should protect their screwdriver tip with tape before removing 3 bolts and disconnecting the hood lock control cable and extracting the hood lock assembly. The process of removing the hood lock assembly also includes the connector disconnect and 3 bolt removal when the courtesy switch is present on the engine hood. The installation requires removal of three key components starting with the front door scuff plate on the left hand side and then proceeding with the cowl side trim sub-assembly on the left hand side before taking out the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel. The cable clamps on the hood lock control can be detached using a screwdriver which should have its tip taped before pulling the assembly from the engine compartment to finish the removal.
