Whenever deploying the Steering Wheel pad perform the task at least 10 m (33 ft) beyond the wheel pad and allow it to cool for a minimum of 30 minutes because the pad will reach extreme temperatures. The deployed Air Bag requires you to wear safety glasses and gloves during handling and hand washing should be conducted with water only but without wetting the Air Bag. A battery serves as the power source to test Special Service Tool: 09082-00700 using red clip attachment to battery positive (+) terminal along with black clip attachment to negative (-) terminal while keeping yellow connector unreconnected. Remove the tool from the battery before inspecting both the steering wheel and pad for looseness.
