    Installation begins by applying engine oil on a new gasket before installing it to the oil cooler spacer followed by attaching the oil cooler spacer onto the oil filter bracket by tightening a bolt to 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf). After applying engine oil to two fresh O-rings, place them on the oil cooler and fix the cooler into position using 5 nuts which require torque of 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf). To install the oil filter bracket, place engine oil on pair of new O-rings which will go into the timing chain cover and then attach the bracket with 2 nuts and 2 bolts by applying 35 Nm (357 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf) torque. Fasten the No. 1 oil cooler bracket to the cylinder block with 2 nuts while torquing them to 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf). Secure the water by-pass hose with 3 bolts that need torquing to 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf). The work continues with the installation of both the cooler compressor assembly and an oil pressure sender gauge assembly before the oil filter element gets substituted. Put in the fan and generator V belt and place the V-bank cover sub-assembly after. Place the required engine fluids before applying the cable to the negative terminal of the battery. Induction of the No. 1 engine under cover sub-assembly needs to happen together with the installation of front fender splash shield sub-assemblies on both sides before inspecting oil and coolant conditions.

    A successful removal of the oil cooler starts by disconnecting the negative battery cable and waiting at least 90 seconds to deactivate the SRS system. The starting step requires you to take off the front fender splash shield sub-assembly LH and RH followed by the No. 1 engine under cover sub-assembly. Engine oil and engine coolant drainage occurs next before the technician removes the V-bank cover sub-assembly. To begin the process remove both the V-belt of the generator and fan and then disconnect the oil filter element and the oil pressure sender gauge assembly. You must disconnect the cooler compressor assembly and take out the 3 bolts while you detach the 4 hoses from the No. 2 water by-pass pipe sub-assembly. The removal process for the No. 1 oil cooler bracket includes disconnecting the ground wire from the cylinder block while removing 2 nuts. To proceed with cleaning the oil filter bracket directly remove two bolts followed by two nuts and the filter bracket along with the two O-rings. The oil cooler assembly removal starts with removing five nuts along with the oil cooler from the oil filter bracket before pulling out the two O-rings leading up to taking out the bolt and oil cooler spacer from the oil filter bracket, together with the gasket.
