Service of an oil cooler starts with draining the engine coolant before filter removal. Unfasten the 2 oil cooler hoses from the cooler before removing its union bolt and plate washer together with the oil cooler device while preserving its O-ring on the oil cooler. Check the condition of the oil cooler along with its obstruction status before installing a new component if failure is detected. Install a new O-ring onto the oil cooler before cleaning its contact surface on the mounting. Start by applying engine oil to both the threads and under the union bolt head. Install the plate washer followed by the union bolt and torque it to 68.6 Nm (700 kgf-cm, 51 ft. lbs.). Start the engine after reinstallation of the oil filter and connecting the oil cooler hoses to the cooler while you verify oil level alongside checking for leaks.
