Q: How to service and repair the Cruise Control Switch on Toyota Tacoma?
A:
Begin Repair of the Cruise Control Main Switch by following the Restraint Systems Service Precautions. The negative battery terminal cable needs to be disconnected before waiting at least 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag activation. The repair sequence starts with removing the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover followed by the lower No. 3 cover and ending with the steering pad assembly removal. Start by disconnecting the connector before removing the two screws which will later allow you to extract the cruise control main switch from the steering wheel. You should install the cruise control main switch by using two screws while connecting its respective connector. Install first the steering pad assembly followed by lower No. 3 steering wheel cover and then lower No. 2 steering wheel cover. The cable installation on the negative battery terminal requires a torque of 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf), following which check both the steering pad assembly and the SRS warning light.
