The first step to replace the Cruise Control Main Switch Assembly begins with disconnecting the battery negative terminal and steering the front wheels forward. The technician should use Special Service Tool: 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05021) to uninstall both the horn button assembly and steering wheel assembly before proceeding. First disconnect the cruise control main switch assembly through the removal of its 2 screws. After centering the spiral cable, return the steering wheel assembly into its correct position. Examine the steering wheel center as well as the horn button assembly prior to reinstalling the horn button assembly. Conduct an inspection of the SRS warning light as the final stage of the procedure.

Safety precautions for Air Bag Systems must be followed before beginning the replacement of the Cruise Control Main Switch. The negative battery terminal cable needs to disconnect while waiting for at least ninety seconds to stop any Air Bag activation. First disconnect the Horn Button Assembly before taking off the Steering Wheel Cover Lower No.2 and Lower No.3 components. You should first detach the connector then remove the two screws so you can retrieve the Cruise Control Main Switch from the steering wheel. The switch installation requires attaching it to the 2 screws before hooking up the connector. Instal the Horn Button Assembly followed by the order of reinstallation: Steering Wheel Cover Lower No.3 then Lower No.2. Complete the procedure by reconnecting the negative battery cable while applying 3.9 N.m torque (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf) then check the Horn Button Assembly and SRS Warning Light.

Disconnect the connector, remove the 2 screws, and pull out the assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

Remove the steering wheel cover lower No.2 and then remove the steering wheel cover lower No.3.

Disengage the wiring pins other than the cruise control main switch assembly from the connector and pull them out.

Remove the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover, followed by the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover, and then the steering pad.

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and wait at least 90 seconds to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

Next, remove the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover, followed by the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover.

The lower No. 2 steering wheel cover and the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover.

By removing the 2 screws.

Remove the steering pad.

Check the horn button assembly and reinstall it, followed by inspecting the SRS warning light.

Center the spiral cable before reinstalling the steering wheel assembly.

Install the Horn Button Assembly, ensuring it is securely in place.

Inspect the steering wheel center point and horn button assembly before reinstalling the horn button assembly.

Disconnect the connector, remove the 2 screws, and pull the switch in the direction indicated by the arrow.

Install the steering pad.

Disconnect the connector and remove the two screws to take out the cruise control main switch.

The lower No. 3 steering wheel cover followed by the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover.

Reinstall the horn button assembly and reconnect the battery negative terminal.

Connect the cable to the negative battery terminal, ensuring a torque of 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf) is applied.

Take out the horn button assembly.

Position the cruise control main switch with the two screws and reconnect the connector.

Take out the steering pad assembly.

Remove the steering pad.

Secure it with the 2 screws, applying a torque of 2.4 Nm (24 kgf-cm, 21 in-lbf).

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and wait for at least 90 seconds to prevent the airbag from deploying.

Disconnect the connector and remove the 2 screws.

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and wait at least 90 seconds to prevent the airbag from deploying.
