Scion Lift Support allows to lift and support your hood or hatch and hold it steady when you want to load some gear or inspect the engine. In 2003, Scion rocketed into the market with very bold paint choices, simplified pricing, and small sized bodies that were just comfortable to drive in the city. The company directly addressed youthful drivers in the social spaces and surprise Release Series running that sold quickly. With all the models being treated as blank canvasses, Scion allowed the owners to customize the wheels, audio and trim whereby no two cars would be similar. This new approach brought in over a million first time Toyota customers and demonstrated that it was possible to make small cars feel special and entertaining. Although the manufacturing process ceased in 2016, the enthusiasm spirit of Scion continues to influence the expectations of drivers to date. A Scion Lift Support is a gas strut, which is compact filled with pressurized nitrogen to balance the weight, dampen motion, and close easily with little effort. In order to install one, the prop of a strong pole is required to support the hood or hatch, the old Lift Support is no longer upright. Find the wear part, observe which side is up, and use a small flat head screwdriver to poke under each of the metal clips and loosen the sockets of the ball studs. Draw the cylinder back and align its length and fittings with the new Lift Support and then snap the new sockets over clean lightly greased studs. Ensure that all the clips are clicked in, the prop is removed and the panel is opened and closed a few times to ensure it is working smoothly.
