A Door Lock Cylinder refers to a keyed core that is located in the door which connects your key to the door latch, allowing you to lock, unlock and arm security options. The replacement of a Door Lock Cylinder requires no other tools, just time. The initial steps to follow are to reduce the height of the glass until the panel is cleared, then unscrew the trim pieces, pull up the interior panel, and remove the vapor barrier. Record the position of each rod to the old cylinder, push the old cylinder off the fixing clip, and tug the unit away. Install any seals to the fresh Door Lock Cylinder, insert it, clip it, and reconnect rods. Apply a small amount of graphite, test key and central locks and replace barrier and panel and ensure easy movement.
