The Scion Gas Cap seals the fuel filler neck securely, prevents vapor leaks, and helps the EVAP system maintain proper emissions control. Scion was new in the market in 2003 and it targeted young drivers who desired small cars that had a touch of personal, affordable and fun cars. Limited Release Series models, vibrant color options, and easy no haggle pricing succeeded in selling the brand more than a million cars and bringing many of the first-time buyers into the Toyota family. The brand served as a test lab by trying out Virtual Scion City and inventive campaigns and put in new technology and style that transferred into subsequent models. Although the production ceased in 2016, the spirit of customization, color, and simple ownership, which characterized Scion, is still felt on the roads. A Scion Gas Cap is a small threaded cap designed to fit into the model line, its primary purpose is to securely fit the filler neck, prevent vapor leaks and keep out dirt to ensure that the EVAP system remains healthy. The installation of a new Gas Cap requires a few minutes. Open the fuel door, swipe the neck dirty and turn the old cap anti-clockwise till it opens. Look at the gasket and neck, look at cracks in it, or look at debris, line up the threads on the replacement Gas Cap, turn clockwise until it is firmly tightened and then continue to reverse crank until you get a solid click which assures you of the seal. Close the door, turn on the engine, and ensure that there is no smell of fuel or no warning on the dash.
