The Scion Door Latch Assembly provides a combination both of safety and comfort by locking the door to the striker and allowing the driver to open the door with ease on the car. In 2003 Scion took off and its small passenger line was targeted at young consumers who enjoyed just one price shopping, bold paint selections and the hype of limited Release Series models. The brand became more of a lifestyle, rather than a badge, the virtual online campaigns and music events, and more than a million customers, many of whom were making their first Toyota product purchase, took the keys. The uniqueness is still enjoyed by many original Scion owners. Although this car ceased to exist in 2016, the lighthearted attitude and philosophy of friendliness toward customization, which Scion stood by, reverberates in the modern trends of the automotive industry. The Door Latch Assembly is installed in the door, attaching handles, lock and actuator, and making each pull a positive, secure click. To put on a new Scion Door Latch Assembly, it is necessary to disconnect the battery, remove the interior panel and take off the moisture barrier. Unattach linkage rods or cables on the old latch, unplug the actuator wiring, and take away the screws at the door edge. Install the Door Latch Assembly, ensure that it slides in place and that it fits in the striker, reconnect the rods, cables and harness. Install the bolts in place, check the alignment of the door, then reopen it, install the bolts to the full extent, reattach the barrier and panel, and reattach the battery, and make sure the lock and handle work smoothly.
